Calatrava, once a barrio in the town of San Agustin is situated along the northeastern coastal plains and rugged terrain of Tablas Island. The three major islands of the province are Tablas, Sibuyan, and Romblon.

Tablas is also blessed with beautiful waterfalls such as the Mainit Falls and Garing Falls in Odiongan, Mablaran Falls in San Andres, and the Dubduban-Bita Falls in San Agustin. The province is known for its massive marble deposits.

Experts say that marbles deposits from Romblon are the only one in Southeast Asia that has commercial value and is comparable to Italian marbles.
